  	According to the Shenandoah County, Virginia Minute Book, on March 10, 1800, Mary Delawter charged Elijah Evans as being the father of her bastard child, and Evans was order to pay 80 dollars. The last will and testament of Lawrence Delawter, the father of Mary Delawter, included Elijah Evans in his will. The family tree that I have in my possession shows Elijah Evans and Rosanne Delawter as being the father and mother of Elijah Evans and that he was adopted by them, however there is no documentation supporting the family tree.
