Mary Delawter filed her complaint March 10, 1800 with Shenandoah County Virginia that Elijah Evans was the father of her bastard child. Lawrence Delawter's last will and testement includes Elijah Evans as the only son of Mary Delawter, his daughter. Elijah Evens is found in the 1820 Census, Lawrence County, Aid Township. Also included is Lawrence Delawter probably the brother of Mary Delawter. The 1830 census places Elijah Evans in Lawrence County, Decatur Township.
